One Year of Buyside Hub
Celebrating this incredible milestone
Welcome back!
January 16th, 2026 marks the one-year anniversary of the launch of Buyside Hub! We have a great annual compensation survey dropping in March, but the database is updated with new submissions every day.
In that timeframe, we have had remarkable growth and are zoned in on delivering for you all.
Additionally, while our name is “Buyside” Hub, we ultimately have become much more than just a place for the Buyside. We are LOADED with IB and Sell-Side comp data. Given how many people work at Banks across the U.S., you should expect to see very detailed banking compensation data, as well as very strong and vast insights about firms.
To me, Buyside Hub was the most no-brainer opportunity out there. I’ve loved building out this platform, even though I’m not a software guy.
I’d say that’s been the biggest hiccup this past year - I’m non-technical, so figuring out how to make technical fixes and resolve small bugs is something I wasn’t necessarily used to. But I have a deep devotion towards ensuring satisfaction on the platform, so please reach out to our contact email at anytime. We are here to work around the clock to help you all.
Reminder, we changed our access guidance last month to add longer access to sell-side folks. Basically, our guidance gives access to people who are more detailed in their answers around firm culture. We really want to flush out how firms are treating people and what it’s like working there to give people honest and frank views about potential future employers. More detailed answers = longer access.

For our early users, I’ve been working aggressively to get users similar to you onto the platform. That way, we can enhance the analytics value prop about what you deserve to be paid. Additionally, the user growth allows us to be more attractive to firms that are conducting searches & hiring.

Will we revisit Community?
Early on, we deprioritized the question board oriented part of the platform. We wanted to focus on 1) user growth and 2) monetization first before getting more into this. Given that the platform has grown materially, we are going to find the right time to deliver on making the platform a great community for folks. We are open to thoughts on this front.

Contributing Plan Access Length:
Interns/Students: 1 month of access for verified contributions.
Junior Sell Side Professionals: Up to 3 months of access for verified contributions.
Lower quality responses may garner just a month of access instead of 3 months
We generally view CorpDev as Buyside, but Consulting and other Corporate roles as non-Buyside positions
Senior Sell Side Professionals: Higher-earner sell-side professionals who answer fully will earn up to 6 months of access
We have regular Director and MD submissions and want to reward these folks for their contributions to the community
Buyside Professionals: We have full discretion on whether you get 6 or 12 months of access, but it’s very dependent on your submission
Lower quality responses will garner 6-9 months of access instead of 12
Professionals that are more junior or lower on the comp totem pole will more likely be granted 9 months
Professionals that are high-earners and answered fully will be granted 12 months
We are also looking for data from the past 12 months, as opposed to older data < 2024
What matters the most here is that this is a two-way street, we need to verify your background as part of our approval process and our inability to do so will lead to a rejection. Making our life more difficult in approval will also ding you.
Accurate submissions are crucial, so if we suspect submissions are inaccurate or not following our submission process, we can elect to suspend or terminate your access if you violate our terms and conditions. That is the last thing we want to do of course. So please use your best judgment on whether a paid plan is a better fit for you than contributing.
