Our Weekly Update and User Surveys
Welcome back!
Here’s a look at some of the firms we’d like to highlight on our Job Board:
Buyside Hub Job Board:
Apollo is hiring a Direct Lending Analyst/Associate
Goldman Sachs is hiring an Equity Research Associate
Blackstone is hiring a Senior Associate in their Tac Opps group in London
Barings is hiring a Client Portfolio Mgmt. Senior Associate/Associate Director in London
Ares is hiring a Private Equity Associate in LA
But here’s the 2nd part of today’s newsletter.
We are nearing a month of the existence of Buyside Hub, so this week’s focus is on user surveys. I hope you can take some time this long weekend to give some feedback and tell me about the general user experience.
As with every startup/new venture, there are always tradeoffs on what to prioritize, but providing you all with robust comp data and culture insights is goal number one.
A decent amount of you have been sharing thoughts, which is greatly appreciated. The biggest of which was around firm anonymity, which is why we implemented the ability to anonymize your firm on the front end.
The idea of this platform isn’t too novel, there are other non-finance platforms that are very compensation data focused, requiring users to submit comp data and culture reviews in order to view other comp data and reviews.
Here’s the distinction vs. Blind, the Tech-focused comp and culture site, for example. At tech companies, there’s thousands of software engineers at the same company who contribute comp data on Blind. Generally, there’s a concentrated amount of firms. This differs materially from finance, where there’s hundreds of sizable firms, but much fewer seats. So that’s what drove the flexibility to anonymize the firm on the front end, for smaller shops.
As a result, we’re currently aggregating industry specific data, which we will include in our annual Compensation Survey.
Ultimately, the Comp report is going to be available for just Buyside Hub users: this means folks who contributed data or paid for site access. It doesn’t make sense IMO to reward folks who didn’t chip in to what we’re building here. We’re a very community driven platform, where each person’s contribution makes the platform better every day.
If you have yet to submit data, verifiable Buyside data and detailed culture insights will drive 12 months of access, while Sellsiders will get access through March 31st.
We’d love to have you on board.
